About Jungle Ropes at the Safari Park 2013

  • The Jungle Ropes Safari is a challenge activity. The participants utilize a SMART belay system and are able to travel through the course at their own pace.
  • There are three (3) trail challenge courses that make up the Jungle Ropes Safari. The courses are labeled yellow through green with yellow being the easiest and green the most difficult. Each trail has approximately twelve (12) challenge elements and zip lines.
  • The Jungle Ropes Safari is suitable for most guests ages seven (7) and up of average physical ability who do not have an extreme fear of heights and weigh less than 250 pounds.
  • Participants will be given instruction by trained staff prior to entering the course. The staff will also monitor participants while on the course and be available for assistance if necessary.
  • The Jungle Ropes Safari is for those looking to challenge themselves with balance and daring experiences. It features zip lines, rope bridges, log bridges, and MANY other elements to satisfy adventure seekers. If you’re looking for the next challenge, this is it!


Admission

  • Admission is NOT included in the price of Jungle Ropes Safari and is required. Please ensure each guest has a valid Admission ticket or Membership.


Age Restrictions

  • 7 (no exceptions)
  • 12 - 17 year olds:
    • no accompanying adult required, however, the Flightline Waiver form must be signed in person by parents or guardians for 16 and 17 year old Flightline guests.
    • Parents do not have to fly but they must be present to sign the forms in person; the form cannot be signed at home in advance and brought to the Park when minors are flying.
    • They cannot chaperone 7-15 year olds.


Capacity

  • 1 - 15 guests per tour time.

  • Changes or cancellations are not permitted.


Check In

  • 15 minutes prior to scheduled time
  • Location: Safari Ticket Booth (Formerly Flightline Ticket Booth)

Miscellaneous

  • ADA: Must have full use of legs and arms and must be able to properly demonstrate the use of the Smart Belay system.
  • The Jungle Ropes course takes the participant up to 50 feet off the ground.
  • The schedule for this experience will be set every :15 minutes, with a capacity of 22.
  • We will have the ability to add inventory to tours, but we will have to reduce inventory from adjoining tours to ensure that we have enough harnesses for the guest.
  • Late arrivals will be handled just as they are for the Flightline. If the guest can be accommodated on the tour they are scheduled for, they will, but more than likely they will be admitted with the next tour time. They will need to read and sign a waiver, get verified by an operator that they meet all the requirements, and be placed in a harness prior to the start of their adventure


Parking

  • A nominal parking fee is paid upon arrival.


Program Advisements (Mandatory)

Participant must be:

  • physically able to climb up and down a short vertical ladder and stairs, balance on ropes and other course elements.
  • able to comprehend and follow all safety instructions in English.
  • able to read, sign and comprehend the liability waiver.

Participant must:

  • weigh between 50 and 275 pounds and fit comfortably in harness.
  • have a reach of 55” (measured from the sole of the foot to the up-stretched tips of the fingers)
  • wear secure, closed-toed shoes (required)


Ratios

  • Adult to Child (ages 8 through 15): 1 Adult for every 2 Children (no exceptions).
  • Ages 16 and 17: no accompanying adult required; cannot be chaperone for riders ages 10 - 15 years.
