About Behind the Scenes: Lion & Friends at the Safari Park 2015

"Come face to face with lions behind the scenes at Lion Camp! You'll also tour around the perimeter of our large [Asia] field habitats and visit a second behind-the-scenes area for a feeding opportunity with one of our hoofed animals."

• Animal Presentation at Wildlife Workshop (formerly known as Education Compound)

• At least two animals; one touchable, some feedable

• Feeding Opportunity (for hoof stock species--not for cats!)

• Rhino at Cable Yard, most often, but no guarantees!

• Can also be Elephants, Somali Wild Ass, Zebras, Przewalski’s Wild Horses

• A "look" at the field enclosures (mainly Asia loop; about 10 minutes)

• We may go to Africa loop if more feeding opportunities are needed, but we try to mainly do Asia loop since this is the only way to see Asia

• We want to avoid duplicating Africa Tram route, which is already included with Admission, and takes longer to drive

• BTS with Lions!

• Currently behind the scenes at the new lion "cub camp" with cubs Ken and Dixie, the brother and sister born at the Safari Park in December 2013

• Cubs born on June 22, 2014 are not on view at the Park

• May see other lion(s)

• No keeper or any special "interaction" with the lions

• Some walking involved

Admission

• Admission is NOT included in the price of Behind the Scenes: Lions and is required. Please ensure each guest has a valid Admission ticket or Membership.

Age Restrictions

• 3 (no exceptions). Children under age 3 (lap children) are not permitted
• 17 and younger must be accompanied by a paid adult
• Children must be able to walk as strollers cannot be taken on tour

Change / Cancel Policy

• Changes or cancellations are not permitted.

Check In

• 15 minutes prior to scheduled time
• Location: Lockers near the front entrance

• NOTE: Please allow suffient time for travel to the Safari Park, parking, and to find Check In location inside park. Allow additional time for busy peak and holiday periods.

Frequency

• Daily, year round, at various times

Miscellaneous

• Late guests will be admitted only up to 5 minutes past advertised tour time
• Children must be able to walk as strollers cannot be taken on tour
• No restroom break (unless absolutely necessary)

Parking

• A nominal parking fee is paid upon arrival.

• NO Selfie sticks
• No tripods
• No food or drink except for water
  • Medical exceptions can be made
• No smoking
• No restroom break
• No camera supplies will be provided
• No large or bulky camera equipment; no tripods except as used as monopods
• Strollers cannot be taken on tour
• May be cancelled due to safety reasons
• This is an all-weather event
• Parking fee is not included and is paid upon arrival
